In simplest terms, a trip on the Saraina is slightly longer than a normal trip on other boats but it's still at the same low price that it's always been. Beyond that, the Saraina employs a primarily Mentawai crew with one of the friendliest surf guides, Dede, calling the shots.
This type of locally built boat and local crew is the perfect way to experience the complete Mentawai Islands experience, we're sure you'll enjoy the boat's traditional style

This surf charter trip is all inclusive and includes the following:
Airport transfers to/from Padang Airport with boards.

Two cases of beer per person - extra beer available upon request.
Harbor permits ($30 Mentawai Government fee collected in Padang and is not included in the price).

Boat Highlights: Saraina is a 67' x 16' Indonesian Hardwood boat built in Padang, umatra in 2003. It is one of the newest charter vessels serving
the Mentawai Islands and it has been custom built specifically for surf charters from the water up. The Saraina is outfitted with all the amenities of home including
full air conditioning, tv, vcr, vcd, stereo, fridge, freezer, radar, depth sounder, gps,VHF/HF radio, 220V generator, life jackets, flares, EPIRB, first aid kit,
tender and outboard, and a spacious living room. Saraina caters exclusively to slightly smaller groups of 6 surfers who want to maximize their surf time and have ample space to move around.
Saraina has a cruising speed of 8-9 knots and is powered by a 360 turbo diesel Mitsubishi engine.
Accommodation on board is in two main cabins, one holds four guests in an open - house fashion while the other contains two slightly larger beds suitable for one or two people.
There is a suggested limit of eight surfers per trip on the Saraina to maintain it's exclusivity.
The run boat is an aluminum tender with a 15 HP outboard engine.
Equipment, Guide and Crews
The Saraina is built with a lustrous dark coconut wood which gives it a unique look and appeal. Most locally built surf charter boats in the Mentawai's have a light colored wood..
The staff on the Saraina includes the captain, a mechanic, a chef, a deck hand, and a highly qualified surf guide, Dede, a Mentawai local who has been guiding surf trips for over five years.
Trip Included
What are the basics included in this package? Experienced surf guide, full catering, airport/hotel transfers, gourmet cuisine, soft drinks, juices, beer, fishing gear, tender, high quality TV & video equipment in in the saloon, full air conditioning throughout the interior and in each individual cabin, a well stocked refrigerator, freezer, icemaker, a well equipped galley, and room to relax and hang out in style.
Trip Excluded
What's not included in the package? $25 VISA fee payable inside the airport- $30 Mentawai Government fee. Wine and spirits are not available - we suggest purchasing these items in Singapore or any duty free shop and bringing them onboard yourself. Tipping the crew is not mandatory but appreciated - the standard tip is @$50 - $100 per person and is distributed evenly among the crew members.
